Summary on Grant Application Form
The aim of the research is to extend a model of anisotropic creep in single crystal alloys, based on crystallographic concepts of deformation being restricted to specific slip systems, to incorporate the effects of asymmetrically distributed microstructural features. The model will be validated against a range of mechanical test results and other experimental measurements being generated in complementary research projects. A secondary aim will be to investigate the implementation of the extended model in infinite element code to simulate a range of multiaxial tests which will be undertaken by collaboration organisations.
