Summary on Grant Application Form
The routine applicability of neurofuzzy feedback control schemes requires essential guarantees of (1) stability and convergence, and (2) transient performance bounds. Existing theory/ methodologies only address aspects of the first issue. The research contained in this proposal has the twin aims of extending this previous work and uniquely will also address the issue (2). The second goal will be achieved by developing representatives of the inherent system uncertainties together with tractable tools to study/characterise their impact on stability, approximation and control. A control toolbox based on these theoretical advances will be developed within the existng NCS neurofuzzy modelling package.
