Summary on Grant Application Form
This application is for total funding of ~550k for the purchase of a 300 Mhz and a 400 Mhz NMR machine to support the extensive research activities of the department and in particular the principal investigators: Profs T Brown, J Evens and Drs M Bradley, J D Kilburn, W Levason and R J Whitby. The instrumentation will also provide essential support for the research activities of Profs G Luckhurst and D Pletcher, Drs G Attard, R Brown (Royal Society research fellow, started Nov 1996) T D H Bugg, M C Grossel, D C Harrowven, J M Mellor and G Reid. In order to support the research activities of the department a range of NMR instrumentation is required. As outlined in the proposal current instrumentation is unable to cope with demand and is now unreliable because of its age. We urgently need to upgrade the medium field instrumentation.
