The proposed research which will rely heavily on access to state-of-the-art mass spectrometry includes: bioconjugates and responsive synthetic ionophores; carborane derivatives, rings, chains and branched systems and B/N/C heterocycles; molecular and macromolecular materials for nanotechnology; natural product biosynthesis, biotransformations and organo-fluorine chemistry; stereocontrolled organic synthesis; main group and transition metal co-ordination chemistry.
