Summary on Grant Application Form
The project is to develop a methodology for the analysis and characterisation of spatio-temporal non-linear systems with particular emphasis on the processing of intrinsic images of brain activity. It involves both theoretical and practical research. Data sets of time series of images from physiological experiments will be analysed and used to refine a non-linear model of the coupling between neural activity and the regulation of regional cerebal blood flow. The model will be used in the statistical analysis of data from experiments investigating the effects of phamocological interventions on the neural control of microcirculations.
