Summary on Grant Application Form
The proposal is to employ a named RA to work on applications of operator theory to the modelling of linear systems, particularly the following topics:(a) Hankel and Toeplitz operators on reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces;(b) Carleman interpolation operators for recovery of analytic functions from partial information;(c) Problems of approximation and extension in Hardy spaces of analytic spaces.(d) The study of classes of causal operators such as almost periodic operators and fading memory operators;(e) The characterization of causal operators on various function spaces.Applications include Paley-Wiener spaces and sampling; control-relevant system identification; and the modelling of linear systems for process control.
