Summary on Grant Application Form
The project aims at developing approximate and exact analytical solutions to facilitate the design of nonlinear electrical networks. Solutions will be developed by utilising ordinary, two point and multivariable Pade approximants as well as symmetry reduction techniques. Both discrete and continuous structures will be considered. The first application of these structures will be in developing a pulse compression network to be used in radar systems to replace the lossy conventional Surface Accoustic Wave (SAW) device. The second application will be in using solitons for high speed digital data systems. To this end, nonlinear interconnect structures will be designed and tested. The project will include the mathematical analysis, the design methods and the building and testing of the circuits.
