|
This proposal has two strands. The first is to open up a new area in our modelling research: the development of new representations for mechanical systems that underpin kinematic analysis and synthesis reasoning. The second is to upgrade the bandwidth and hardware of our local research network to state-of-the-art technology in order to support and enhance a group of related research projects, none of which could individually justify the cost of the necessary network equipment upgrade. Both of these will advance our work in failure analysis and modelling of electro-mechanical systems for engineering automation.
