|
The proposed Centre of Excellence will focus on four major issues, concerned with the role of personal communication systems in the evolving information society:-1. to establish measures of overall success in matching user expectations with service provision in terms of capacity, service usage, mobility and quality.2. to investigate ways in which the integration of radio connectivity will be managed in future intelligent networks.3. to research possibilities in user terminal architecture to achieve interworking and re-configurability in a multi-operator, multi-edia environment.4. to investigate problems which the above will place on service provision in adverse radio environments and to explore possible solutions.
