Summary on Grant Application Form
Two researchers, each pursuing a seperate field (supply chain analysis and mapping, risk and cost management) but sharing a common context (environmentally sound practice), will conduct literature reviews (compiling a publishable database), an expert survey (interview based) and nine case studies (four each plus one common) to develop conceptual models for the deliverables:ECRM and SCEAM.The conceptual models will be validated and developed further into management tools by extension of the cases, international reference interviews, and practitioner workshops in the UK.The research will be supervised by Prof. Lamming and Dr. Cousins, both of whom have extensive experience in supply chain work, with collaboration from Prof. A Warhurst who is Director of Bath's International Centre for the Environment. One major sponsor will be involved (London Underground Ltd) and a club of approximately fifteen other companies will be convened to enrich the study, provide case studies, validate the tool etc.In addition to the specific deliverables, the project will generate significant new knowledge in this management studies area, about which there is currently little literature.
