Summary on Grant Application Form
The principal aim in this collaborative LINK-Photonics project is the development of new generation of streak cameras based upon the direct recording of the electron images. Within this project the St Andrews research effort will relate primarily to the design of a CCD-compatible streak tube and to its incorporation into optimised single-shot and synchroscan camera arrangements. Experimental assessment of the temporal resolution of experimental versions of these streak cameras will be carried out using diode (or minilaser) - pumped, femtosecond laser for which the associated pulse-timing-jitters will have been minimised.
