Symplectic topology and geometry, including contact geometry, symplectic invariants such as capacities and symplectic homology, generating functions, Hofers metric, J-holomorphic curves, Gromov-Witten classes, higher genus Gromov invariants, Seiberg-Witten invariants, topology of symplectic 4-manifolds, Floer homology, quantum cohomology, relations with gauge theory and algebraic geometry; Moment maps and symplectic reduction including moduli spaces of flat connections, symmetric products of surfaces, topology and quantum cohomology of symplectic quotients, localization theorems and convexity; Quantization. Poisson geometry, aspects of topological quantum field theory, quantum groups, Feynman path integrals; Hamiltonian dynamics, integrable systems, periodic orbits, qualitative behaviour and stability, variational methods, symplectic integration, relation with control theory.
