Summary on Grant Application Form
In this proposal, we wish to study the magnetic domain behaviour, magnetic reversal behaviour (both static and time-resolved) and spin dependent transport in single and arrayed dots and wires with minimum dimensions as small as 1nm using fabrication and magnetic measurement techniques already available and working in the laboratory. An important aspect of our work is our proposal to investigate epitaxial structures where well defined magnetocrystalline anisotropies arise, to investigate ordered arrays and to explore the complete size range from 1000nm down to 1nm.
