The development of good and efficient meshes partitioning algorithms is essential if domain decomposition methods are going to be successfully used in solving engineering simulations. By addressing the three areas of partition algorithm development, partition assessment and mesh redistribution the project will advance the usefulness of the domain decomposition method.Through efficient techniques for multi-level partitioning the project will be able to develop practical tools for use in large engineering applications such as CFD and electromagnetic. The effectiveness of the methods will be assessed through the development of a straightforward model of the applications and the target hardware. The project will investigate the problem of mesh re-distribution which will result from automatic refinement during the solution process. Finally the project will demonstrate the techniques by implementing them within some typical engineering applications.
