|
Since the introduction of the term business processes in 1990, interest in the subject has grown rapidly. Two approaches to defining business processes are emerging. The first is to develop a generic set of business processes applicable in a range of organisations, the second is to define a set of business processes based on the information flows found in specific organisations. The majority of the UK's research effort in the business processes area has, to date, focused on developing generic models. This travel grant would investigate the feasibility of using two specific techniques (production flow analysis and GRAI Grids) to define organisation specific business processes.
