Summary on Grant Application Form
This project will use the uniquely recorded BT OLYMPUS propagation data at three frequencies, 12,20 and 30 GHz, for scintillation analysis. Nowhere in Europe has such a detailed analysis of scintillation been performed and the existence of the BT data is unique in this respect. The data analysis will be used to:1. Develop new empirical models for use in CCIR and planning of future satellite systems.2. Investigate a new Digital Signal Processing scheme to mitigate the system effects of scintillation.3. Develop new ways of applying scintillation measurements to atmospheric remote sensing.
