Summary on Grant Application Form
Medium filed nmr spectrscopy will be used to underpin a very wide range of research programs in organic chemistry, particularly in the area of synthesis where a high range of contemporary issues are being addressed. These issues encompass the design and development of selective methods in synthesis and their application to target molecules, mainly natural products. The provision of medium-field nmr instrumentations essential to maintain the current momentum of the large research programs in Professor Pattenden's research group and will release other instrumentation to support much new science which has recently been introduced to the department as result of new appointments.
