Summary on Grant Application Form
The project plans to continue the development of a new on-line measurement system as a tool capable of controlling batch crystallisation processes. The system incorporates: on-line XRD using an INEL CPS 120 curved position sensitive detector, on-line UV (vis)/ NIR using an immersion type probe, on-line microscopy with image analysis, temperature and pH measurement and the capability for the controlled addition of other species and will be set up and based on the new particle science and engineerng station 7.3 at the Daresbury SRS where the high intensity available will permit the dynamics of particle formation to be assessed on-line.
