The principal aim of this project is to develop and build on recent work on non-hyperbolic dynamical systems. In particular we shall be concerned with the persistence properties of such systems. We aim to show that such systems are not persistent from a topological point of view but can be persistent in a measure theoretical sense. The kind of systems we will consider occur in all sorts of applications in Biology, Physics, Economics, etc.
