Summary on Grant Application Form
This research project is focused upon the effective management of outsourcing risk. Outsourcing is defined as the contracting out of functions or activities that were previously undertaken within the organisation. The project will identify the various risks that are associated with outsourcing, and develop tools and techniques with which risk can be managed. The research will be particularly concerned to discover the extent to which the risks of outsourcing and the type of tools required to manage those risks, are contingent upon the business environment in which organisations operate. The project will provide the basis for understanding the criteria by which organisations should outsource to attain a sustainable position in supply and value chains.
