Summary on Grant Application Form
This is a proposal to establish at Cardiff a centre for computational spectral theory. It will be a focus for pure and applied mathematicians and numerical analysis who have an interest in the spectral theory of ODEs and PDEs. It will draw on multi-disciplinary resources in Universities in Britain, Europe and the USA to achieve synergy. In the first 3 years of its life it will investigate various spectral problems associated with Sturm-Liouville, difference, harmonic and bi-harmonic operators.
