Summary on Grant Application Form
The aim of this proposal is to produce a validated technique for the prediction of phase split of two-phase flows at T-junctions. This would be used for the design of equipment for partial processing of the produced hydorcarbons of Offshore Production Facilities. The techniques will be able to model the combination of dispersed and separated flows that are characteristically found in industrial equipment. PDA/PIV will be used to provide detailed data for validation. The theoretical work will be based on previously developed methods which will be extended to cope with the presence of part of the liquid phase as a separated flow (wall film).
