Summary on Grant Application Form
This project concerns the definition of a network architecture for a second generation mobile satellite systems to deliver multimedia services and to provide integration to terrestrial networks based upon ATM techniques. the first phase of the project will define key services, QOS and technology drivers and constraints. This will lead to a baseline architecture definition and a list of technical issues in the second phase. The third phase will address the technical issues, networking, air interface, service QOS, satellite and terminal technology as in detailed evaluation. The output of these studies will modify the baseline architecture and the final phase will collate the modifications into a validated architecture and make specific proposals to industry and standards bodies for the future mobile multimedia satellite system.
