Summary on Grant Application Form
The aim of the work is to develop the new space-time method for performing ab initio many-body theory for solids that the group has developed recently, and to apply it to several physical problems: (i) defects and short-period superlattices where the GW charge density is required; (ii) vertex corrections for more strongly correlated electronic systems; (iii) the total energy in systems where the LDA fails; (iv) inelastic X-ray scattering in metals, and (v) many-body effects and image states at metal surfaces.
