We propose to develop the focus of our programme to be at the GANIL facility. It will be a mixture of work on K-isomeric states and on N>Z nuclei in the lower quadrant of the Z=28/50 shell. We already have extensive collaborative links with colleagues at the University of Surrey on a programme to study isomeric states in the N=74 and Z~72 nuclei. The collaboration has a proposal (led by Surrey and CCLRC Daresbury) to extend this isomer work to A~80 N~Z nuclei using the multi-fragmentation reaction at GANIL. We intend to use this experiment as an intermediate step towards developing a collaborative (with Surrey and Daresbury) experimental programme of isomeric and in-beam work at GANIL. This work will link in with our modelling work, which will now focus on the Z=28/50 shell, building on existing collaboration with theorists at GANIL and helping us develop closer ties with theorists at the University of Sussex. Our group intends to maintain clear links between experiment and theory.
