Summary on Grant Application Form
Experiments will be performed as part of inter-institutional collaborations to study the high spin states of nuclei in the A=60 and A=150 regions using the high resolving power of the Euroball array. Studies of large deformation, band termination, mirror symmetry and isospin effects will be investigated and followed up with experiments using radioactive beams. The Charissa collaboration has developed state-of-the-art instruments and techniques for the study of nuclear clustering in break-up reactions. The proposed research will aim to continue in this programme and to apply the instruments and techniques to the study of light heavy-ion interactions.
