Summary on Grant Application Form
The purpose of thie project is to study the ergodicity problem of the Markov semigroups for which the underlying space is infinite dimensional. We would like to consider the models of stochasitc dynamics for hwich there are many invariant probability measures or, in case of uniqueness, for which the decay of correlations is very slow. Such cases are very important in application (eg in statistical mechanics and computer science) and therefore it would be important to make progress in their mathematical understanding, which is still quite poor. We would like to develop a method for controling the ergodicity of stochastic dynamics and apply it to some important models (as eg criticality preserving perturbation of a critical Orstein-Uhlenbeck process, 2-dimensional rotator and Ising models, low temperature spin systems). The idea of the method is based on application of coercive inequalities.
