Summary on Grant Application Form
The purpose of this project is to exploit a probabilistic apprach to positive solutions of semilinear equations of the form ........................................ where p>1 is an integer (developed by the proposer under EPSRC grtant ref GR/K38977 and to extend the techniques to allow wider application. It is proposed to spend six weeks in North America, the first five at UC Berkeley where there are experts on both the probabilistic aspects of the project and on the analytic approach to the equations. The final week will be spent at the IMS/SSC Joint Meeting in Montreal which includes particularly relevant sessions on Measure-valued Processes and on Probability and Analysis (at which the proposer is an invited speaker).
