Summary on Grant Application Form
The purpose of this reseach project is to improve the performance of the design process in the aerospace industry in order to obtain improved competitiveness through rapidity of response asnd quality of design. It will do this by analysing design performance, and making proposals in the areas of (1) reduction of design arror (2) interactive aids for beginners and (3) integration of the design process. A significant part of this work will be in developing measures of perofrmance and obtaining baseline data. Process changes, arising from this analysis will be implemented, measured and compared with the baseline data.
