Summary on Grant Application Form
The diverse chemistry of the C cobalt bond in vitamin B12 and B12 - like compounds will be explored by studying novel ionic reactions between cobalt based p-cations and carbon and heteroatom nucleophiles leading to new enantiospecific C C and C heteroatom bond constructions. Complementary cobalt-mediated radical reactions will be studied in tandem with the ionic reactions, and the new strategy will be applied in target synthesis.
