Summary on Grant Application Form
The aim of this project is to explore the potential of a new technique for measuring depth-resolved thermal diffusivity profiles in inhomogeneous materials. This will require theoretical research to model time-dependant temperature and strain fields, instrument research to optimise sensitivity, and experimental research to test the theoretical models and data analysis techniques.
