Summary on Grant Application Form
Funding is requested for a three year research programme aimed at improving and greatly extending our understanding of the molecular scale process involved in crystallisation processes, in particular those affected by growth rate dispersion. The proposed work involves developing computational modelling techniques to predict the elastic (strain) properties of particulate solids and linking these with recent developments in modelling growth rates via attachment energy calculations. The aim is to develop methods capable of modelling the efffect of strain on growth rate dispersion as it impacts on process technology and engineering.
