|
We shall investigate the canonical, crystal and standard monomial bases of quantized enveloping algebras developed by Lusztig, Kashiwara and others, with the aims first of calculating these bases in more cases than has hitherto been possible, second of relating them to the algebraic and geometric structures of the algebras and third applying this information to the representation theory of these and other algebras. Our methods will be a combination of the combinatorial calculations of the RA with the algebraic insight of the PI, using in particular recent works of Ringel and the PI.
