Summary on Grant Application Form |
This programme was launched in 1992 with the primary aims of: Developing processes to support company management teams in the development of coherent and appropriate manufacturing strategies. Developing processes to support the design of relevant performance measurement systems which will address the business, operational and human aspects of performance. The main elements of this extended programme are: Testing and refining strategy and performance measurement processes. Tailoring of processes: by industrial sector, company size, manufacturing strategic role, etc. Ongoing management of the processes: providing guidelines for the successful ongoing management of the processes by collecting and analysing longitudinal content research data from firms using the processes. Linking to competence models: to complement the existing tools which adopt a predominantly market-based perspective. Linking to benchmarking models: to demonstrate how existing benchmarks might be used within the current processes to aid managers in setting appropriate targets. Providing modelling and decision support tools: for modelling, visualisation and decision support linked to the processes.
