The aim of this programme is to learn from the experience of companies who have successfully introduced team working to reconfigure their organisations to exploit integrated technology and manufacturing methodologies, and to develop conceptual frameworks for better understanding, and methodologies for use by others.The main output will be a field tested, prototype methodology for auditing, reconfiguring and developing team working strategic manufacturing advantage.This will involve the production of a PC based bibliographic database, illustrative case material of good practice , identification of the variety of approaches companies have used, exploration of the use of team working in building core manufacturing competencies, development and testing of a conceptual model, specification, validation, and field testing of a prototype methodology for auditing, reconfiguring and developing team working for strategic manufacturing advantage, and the dissemination of results to researchers and practitioner audiences.
