Summary on Grant Application Form
The purpose of the research is the development of novel silicate (zeolite) membranes for product separation and recovery. The proposed technique involves plasma spraying zeolites onto supports to prepare flat plate or tubular zeolite membrane devices. The membranes will be characterised and the permeation studies performed using the model separations. Finally, experiements will be carried out to examine whether transient operation of the membrane can be used to improve selectivity characteristics of the process.
