Summary on Grant Application Form
To establish a National ENDOR facility and Centre of Excellence for collaborative research in the Characterisation of Paramagnetic Centres in liquid, single crystals, polycrystalline and amorphous solids from 4K to 700K. Research in the ESR group at Cardiff will focus on (i) metal clusters and complexes; (ii) transition metal centres in catalysts and ceramics; (iii) free radicals scavenged from catalyst surfaces and active solids using the spin trap techniques recently developed at Cardiff; (iv) radical processes in biochemical and pathological systems.
