Using XPS, UPS, HREELS and LEED we will study initially the Zn(0001)-0-Metal (m) system with m = Cu, Ba, Cs. Subsequently other single crystal substrates (Pd, Ni, Ti) of catalytic interest will be explored and correlations with the chemical reactivities of the overlayers sought in each case.
