Summary on Grant Application Form
Synthesis of C-B-N fused ring systems (borazarenes) which are potentially mesogenic and which can be pyrolysed to carbon-boron nitride alloys.Investigation of the mesogenic characteristics of the precursors or of their ability to form discotic liquid crystals by heat-treatment.To follow the structural development of the precursor on pyrolysis. To make a preliminary characterisation of the novel CBN alloys produced.
