Summary on Grant Application Form
1. To prepare a number of potential catalysts for the asymmetric reduction of carbonyl groups.2. To assess the performance of each of the catalysts preared in 1) as a catalyst for the asymmetric reduction of acetophenone by borane.3. To develop an optimum catalyst.4. To employ the optimum catalyst for the asymmetric reductions of a range of carbonyl substrates to give synthetically valuable products.
