Summary on Grant Application Form
1. Develop synthetic routes to alkylidyne complexes of iron, ruthenium and osmium.2. Define reactivity profiles for alkylidyne ligands as a function of metal, co-ligands and co-ordinative unsaturation of comparison with early transition metal alkylidyne complexes.3. Investigate the coupling reactions of alkylidyne ligands with other unsaturated co-ligands, directed towardsa) Elaboration of novel ligands andb) Application to metal mediated organic synthesis.4. investigate the suitability of the alkylidyne complexes as pre-catalysts for olefin metathesis processes.
