To investigate the role of heteroatom compounds in coke formation on hydrotreating catalysts. To establish predictive methods for the combination of poisoning, coking, pore blockage and diffusional restriction, inherent in catalyst deactivation by N heteroatom compounds during hydrotreating. The project is an integrated computer modelling and experimental study and involves collaboration between University of Salford and Imperial College.
