Summary on Grant Application Form
The project aims at establishing the use of dielectric relaxation in the characterisation of water diffusion into a range or thermoset and thermoplastic materials. The programme specifically explores the effect of fluorination and topographical changes in thermoset epoxy matrices as well as the influence of phase separation in the case of thermoset/thermoplastic blends. Attempts will be made to generate theoretical models to describe this behaviour.
