Summary on Grant Application Form
It is proposed to use electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and electron nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) to investigate defects in CVD diamond films: (a) to determine the molecular structure of the defects and their effect on macroscopic physical properties such as thermal conductivity and optical transparency, (b) to find the effect on the defects and macroscopic properties of annealing the films in controlled atmospheres and (c) to determine the role of hydrogen in CVD films by suing 1H matrix ENDOR
