Summary on Grant Application Form
Changes and competition in the bus industry together with increased expectation of computer scheduling software demand a better vehicle scheduling method that is easily extensible for new objectives and constraints. The proposed research aims at developing such a method. The object-oriented approach will be used, and a user interaction model will be developed. The most wanted features among bus operators, namely multi-vehicle types, optimised preservation of partial schedules, and service co-ordination functions will in particular be included in the new system.
