Summary on Grant Application Form
1. To use new hydrocarbon and fluorocarbon surfactant liquid crystal mesophases as template media for synthesising anisotropic magnetic colliods with cylinder and sheet-like morphologies.2. Investigate the equilibrium structure and properties of these materials using a variety of investigative techniques.3. Study the response of the lyotropic magnetic phases to variation of applied magnetic field strength and direction.4. Characterise the room temperature magnetic properties (at Bangor).
