Summary on Grant Application Form
1. Establish catalytic C-C/C-heteroatom multi-bond forming cascades generating polycycles containing cyclopropanes, 10-membered rings, and bridged-rings. Evaluate transannular reactions.2. Develop ter- and tetra-molecular processes involving carbon monoxide and the equivalent isocyanide processes.3. Elucidate relative rates of cyclisation, b-hydride elimination and anion capture of 3- and 10-membered rings and establish catalytic Ramberg-Backlund reactions.4. Apply methodology to selected natural products.
