Summary on Grant Application Form
During the period covered by this application it is expected that Australian National University accelerator will continue to be the main facility used for the cluster studies, although gradually some of the work will require the use of European laboratories, in particular the Vivitron at Strasbourg. The principle facilities for -ray spectroscopy will be the Vivitron (EUROGAM) and the cyclotron at Jyvaskyla. It is, however, anticipated that some use will continue to be made of Gammasphere and the 8 array. In addition to the use of stable beams it is expected that experiments which utilise radioactive beams will take place in both Europe and the USA. The group is already involved in experiments at Loubain la Neuve and has been invited to participate in reaction measurements using radioactive beams at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory in the USA.
