Summary on Grant Application Form
The proposal is for a renewal of the IRC grant to the Centre for Process Systems Engineering, Imperial College. The Centre pursues an interdisciplinary research programme in five areas relevant to the process industries: synthesis and design, operations, control and optimisation, adaptive control and stochastic systems and modelling and numerical methods. Some 50 projects are proposed in this fundamental programme. In addition, five major projects will be pursued where the Centre collaborates closely with industry on significant areas of mutual interest. The areas are integrated process design, batch processing, supply chain and plant wide management, biotechnology applications, and feedback control and optimisation.
