Summary on Grant Application Form |
This programme is aimed at developing a theory of transport in small superconducting samples where quantum interference effects are important. By analysing recently derived formulae for transport coefficients, which incorporate effects due to Andreev Scattering, we shall: (1) investigate changes due to the onset of superconductivity including the counter intuitive decrease in electrical conductance when a clean sample becomes superconducting; (2) phase periodic transport and the Josephson effect in mesoscopic superconductors; (3) the effect of correlations on othersiwe coherent transport.
